Trailblazers Unite: The Fields of Michigan Joins New Outdoor Collection by Under Canvas
We’re thrilled to share some exciting news from two of our American Glamping Association members and pioneers in the outdoor hospitality industry: Under Canvas, and Irene Wood, founder of The Fields of Michigan.
This week, Under Canvas officially announced the launch of its newest endeavor, the Outdoor Collection by Under Canvas—a curated brand of nature-based stays and experiences designed with place and purpose in mind. The collection celebrates uniquely local properties that invite guests to reconnect with nature, with others, and with themselves through exceptional accommodations and immersive outdoor settings.
We’re especially proud to share that one of the first properties to join this exciting new chapter is The Fields of Michigan, founded by our very own Irene Wood. As many of you may recall, Irene was honored with the Sarah Dusek Award at the 2024 AGA Glamping Awards—and this announcement beautifully reflects the spirit of that recognition. The Fields has now been acquired by Under Canvas and will shine as a cornerstone of their new collection.
Set on a picturesque blueberry farm near South Haven, Michigan, The Fields offers thoughtfully designed tents, cozy cottages, farm-to-table dining, and curated guest experiences. It has long been a beloved glamping destination and a shining example of hospitality rooted in connection to land and community. Under the Outdoor Collection banner, The Fields will continue to offer its signature style and warmth, now with expanded resources and support from the Under Canvas team.
Also featured in the Outdoor Collection is Bar N Ranch, a lodge and cabin property just outside Yellowstone National Park in West Yellowstone, Montana. Both properties will begin welcoming guests for the 2025 season, and reservations are now open.
This collaboration not only marks a powerful union between two inspiring AGA members but also sets a precedent for how our industry can grow while staying grounded in authenticity, sustainability, and shared values.
